3 Things I Wish I’d Known Before Starting an Online Business
Well hey there and welcome to another episode of the Mama Business Podcast. I’m Sarah and I’m so glad you are spending some time with me today. My family is finally getting back into the swing of things after Christmas break – which, because my husband is a teacher, meant that we got a good healthy dose of togetherness as a family over the past few weeks. As a mom with a toddler at home, it doesn’t change much for me. But I do remember the early years when I was building my business and the older girls were in school. When holiday breaks or half days or anything else came along, it definitely meant that I had to tweak my schedule or really plan ahead so I didn’t end up frustrated about not getting things done in business or splitting my time between my family and my business.
But the truth was – in those early days, I was making a lot of mistakes. I was pursuing strategies and ideas that weren’t benefiting myself or my business. I was looking at those around me and believing that what I was doing wasn’t good enough or didn’t measure up.
The best part is that I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be that way. I can have my family and my business, too – because I do know what to do and when to do it. And it doesn’t always look the way that everyone around me thinks it should. So, that takes the guesswork out of planning my days, weeks, and months and allows for a significant amount of flexibility when it comes to school holidays and vacation times.
My goal with this podcast is to help you find the same kind of freedom within your business as well. So, I’m hopeful today’s episode will really bless you as you consider how to navigate your current business going forward OR how you might give yourself the opportunity to start your business endeavor without sacrificing your family – or yourself – as well.
So, with that, I’m going to spend the rest of the time today talking about three things I wish I’d known in the early stages of my business. And I really encourage you to consider each one of these things and how it might apply to you and your current situation. Sound like a plan?
